Massachusetts State Police and nearly a dozen other police agencies on Tuesday, May 30, resumed their search for a 51-year-old Springfield man who went missing after his jet ski collided with a boat over the weekend.

Carlos Lopez fell into the Connecticut River in Northampton around 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, state police said. State environmental officers rescued an Agawam woman and a Chicopee man who were on the boat and rushed them to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Search teams had side-scan sonar equipment, which provides them with a better view of the river bed, to locate Lopez, authorities said.
